NC Update 9-1-09 • We are on track for a North Carolina Regional Tournament in 2010. FIRST will be releasing those dates October 1. We need volunteers to get that ball in high gear for this event! Our immediate needs are for people and/or small committees in the following areas: -Volunteer Coordinator -Team Development and Support -University/Higher Education Coordinator -Public Relations/Media Coordinator -Sponsor Recruitment and Development -Website All of these positions can be done via phone and computer and would entail 1 to 3 hours a week with some periodic longer time needs. PLEASE pass this along to all of your team member parents, former team member parents, friends, colleagues and and any one else that might be interested and able to help out. If you see something askew or think we're missing something, let me know. • Grant Money - We are working on several potential sources of grant money for rookie and veteran teams. Please let me know if you have a lead for grants as well as if your team is in need of funding assistance. As grants become available, they will be posted on the state website. • Rookie Teams? We have been charged with starting 10 rookie teams this season. If each veteran NC team took the initiative to help start one rookie team, we would more than meet our quota. Please let me know asap if you have any leads on potential rookie teams. I would be happy to assist and supply brochures, dvds, come speak, etc.... That's all for the moment.
