NC Regional Tournament: Team WelcomeWelcome to all the teams attending the inaugural NC Regional Tournament! We are excited to have you and look forward to hosting a new and exciting event for teams throughout the country. This year, the NC Regional will be held April 2-3, 2010, with robot set-up and practice runs on Thursday, April 1. The tournament will be held in Dorton Arena on the NC State Fairgrounds. Directions and maps can be found on this website under the Events menu on the right. Following are some important items that you will need to know as you prepare for the regional. • Uncrating/Load-In Plan and Rules:Procedures for 7:45 am - 8:30 am Uncrating: - Teams are encouraged to arrive early to uncrate as this allows the shipping company to move crates out of the pit area as early and as safely as possible. - Teams will be allowed to send up to 3 representatives to uncrate their robot. At least one person must be a mentor (18+ years of age and not a high school student). Representatives may enter at the EAST side door. Standard safety rules (i.e. safety glasses) apply during this time. - Team representatives are not permitted to work on the robot during this time period. - Team representatives may only bring in tools they can carry that are necessary for uncrating the robot. For example, a team may choose to bring in a handheld drill, extension cord, and crowbar. Teams will not be allowed to bring in any pit materials, toolboxes, etc... • 8:30 am Load-In:- Teams with large items may load-in through the EAST side door. All other team members are requested to enter through the front NORTH side entrance. The EAST doors will be closed at 9:30 am and not opened again until load-out on Saturday. - If you are bringing in parts of your robot that count towards the WITHHOLDING ALLOWANCE, please pack these separately so that, if necessary, they can be reviewed prior to unpacking. • Pit Rules and Notes- Safety glasses will NOT be distributed to teams. Team members will be permitted in the pits for the first 5 minutes in the morning to retrieve safety glasses stored in their pits. For the remainder of the day, all team members that wish to enter the pits must bring their own safety glasses. If a team member does not have eye protection they will not be allowed in the pits. - Teams are welcome to store items in the seating area above the pit. We ask that you keep all walkways clear at all times. - Please note that VIPs and other guests will be visiting the pit area throughout the event. - Please do NOT enter the South Concourse unless you are conducting a VIP tour or waiting for your Chairman's Interview. - All team members must wear close-toed shoes while in the pit area. • Misc.:- Teams will be asked to send one team member to help sing the national anthem on Saturday morning.
